About Our Dishwasher Repair
A dishwasher packs plumbing, pumps, a heater and electronic controls into a small space under the counter, so one symptom can come from very different parts. Standing water after a cycle might be a clogged filter you can clean yourself, a blocked air gap or garbage disposal inlet, or a drain pump that has failed. Dishes that come out gritty might mean a worn wash pump, a stuck spray arm or an inlet valve that isn't letting in enough water.
We repair built-in dishwashers from the major brands, including front-control models and the hidden top-control designs that are now common. If your dishwasher won't drain, check and rinse the filter first — our repair guide shows how. If that doesn't solve it, or the problem is a leak, a dead control or dishes that won't get clean, book a visit and we'll find the cause.
Dishwasher Problems We Fix
We diagnose the cause, explain the fix and give you a clear price before any work starts.
Water left in the bottom
Clogged filter or sump, a kinked drain hose, a blocked air gap or disposal inlet, or a failed drain pump or check valve.
Dishes not getting clean
Worn wash pump or motor, clogged spray arms, low fill from the inlet valve, or a detergent dispenser that doesn't open.
Leaking onto the floor
Worn door gasket, sump seal, loose hose clamps, a leaking inlet valve or a pump seal.
Won't start or no lights
Door latch and switch, thermal fuse, control board or a tripped circuit.
Dishes not drying
On models that use a heater: the element, high-limit thermostat, vent or rinse-aid dispenser.
Won't fill with water
Water inlet valve, a float switch stuck up, or a closed or kinked supply line.
Grinding, humming or loud noises
Something caught in the chopper or wash impeller, or a failing pump motor.
Error code or blinking lights
We read the code for your brand and test the part it points to.
If water is leaking onto the floor, stop running the dishwasher and wipe up the water — leaks under cabinets can damage flooring quickly.
What the $69 Dishwasher Diagnostic Includes
We watch the machine work and test the parts behind the symptom:
- Run a short test cycle to watch fill, wash and drain
- Check the filter, sump, drain hose, air gap and disposal connection
- Test the inlet valve, float switch and water supply
- Check the wash and drain pumps, spray arms and heater with a meter
- Inspect the door latch, gasket and the underside for signs of leaks
- Read any error codes and check the control board
- Explain what failed and give you the repair price before any work starts
Repair or Replace Your Dishwasher?
Drain pumps, inlet valves, door latches, heaters, gaskets and spray arms are common repairs, and a dishwasher that's otherwise solid is usually worth fixing — especially if it matches your other appliances or has a stainless tub.
Replacement makes more sense when the tub itself is cracked or rusted through, when the main control fails on an older entry-level model, or when several major parts are failing at once. We'll lay out the options honestly after the diagnostic. We're a repair-only company — we don't sell or install new appliances — so our advice isn't tied to selling you anything.

Dishwasher Repair FAQ
Why is there water in the bottom of my dishwasher?
A little water around the filter area is normal on some models, but an inch or more after a finished cycle means it isn't draining. Clean the filter first. If that doesn't fix it, the drain hose, air gap, disposal inlet or drain pump is the likely cause.
My dishwasher stopped draining right after a new garbage disposal was installed. Why?
When a disposal is installed, the knockout plug inside its dishwasher inlet has to be removed. If it was left in, the dishwasher can't drain. It's a common cause and quick to check.
Why do my dishes come out cloudy or gritty?
Grit usually points to a clogged filter or spray arm, a weak wash pump, or low water fill. A white film is often mineral scale; rinse aid and a cleaning cycle help, and we check the inlet valve and heater to rule out a failed part.
Is it safe to keep using a leaking dishwasher?
No. Turn it off and stop using it until the leak is found. Water under a dishwasher can damage cabinets and floors quickly, and some leaks get worse with every cycle.
Do you repair dishwashers with hidden top controls?
Yes. Top-control (hidden panel) dishwashers are common, and we repair them along with front-control models.
How much is the service call?
The service call is $69, and it's waived when you go ahead with the repair. After diagnosing the problem we give you a clear price before any work starts.
What warranty do you offer?
Every repair includes a 1-year warranty on installed parts and a 3-month warranty on labor.
