About Our Commercial Refrigeration Repair

When a walk-in or reach-in cooler fails, it puts inventory and food safety on the line. Mr. Shark Appliance Repair has been repairing home appliances and refrigeration equipment since 2012, and commercial refrigeration is a real part of that work — reach-in refrigerators and freezers, prep tables, display cases, walk-in coolers and commercial ice machines.

Commercial equipment runs far harder than a home refrigerator. Doors open all day, kitchens are hot and greasy, and condenser coils load up quickly. Many breakdowns start as something small — a condenser caked with grease and dust, a door gasket that no longer seals, an iced-over evaporator — that eventually overwhelms the system. We look for that root cause so the same failure doesn't come back next month.

We're open Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and urgent commercial calls are prioritized during those hours. Call as soon as you notice the temperature climbing; the earlier we can get there, the better the chance of saving product.

Commercial Refrigeration Problems We Fix

We diagnose the cause, explain the fix and give you a clear price before any work starts.

  • Walk-in cooler or freezer not holding temperature

Evaporator or condenser fan motors, iced coils, defrost problems, door gaskets and strip curtains, or low refrigerant.

  • Reach-in refrigerator or freezer running warm

A dirty condenser, failed fans, thermostat or controller problems, or compressor start components.

  • Prep table warm on top

Blocked airflow, a failed fan, an iced coil or lids left open — we check the air path to the pans.

  • Display case fogging or sweating

Failed door or frame heaters, worn gaskets letting humidity in, or airflow problems.

  • Ice building up on the evaporator

Defrost heater, termination thermostat, timer or controller failure, or a frozen drain line.

  • Water leaking inside or under the unit

A clogged or frozen condensate drain, a cracked drain pan or a failed drain line heater.

  • Compressor short-cycling or not starting

Start components, contactor, overload, high head pressure from a dirty condenser, or refrigerant problems.

  • Refrigerant leaks

Oily spots on tubing, frost in odd places or a slow loss of cooling — we check pressures and track down the leak.

What the $69 Commercial Refrigeration Diagnostic Includes

We check the whole system, from the box to the condensing unit:

  • Record box temperature and compare it with the controller setting
  • Check condenser coils, fans and airflow around the condensing unit
  • Inspect the evaporator, defrost system and drain
  • Measure refrigerant pressures and temperatures with gauges
  • Test compressor start components, contactors and electrical connections
  • Check door gaskets, hinges, closers and heaters
  • Explain what failed and give you the repair price before any work starts

Repair or Replace Commercial Equipment?

Most commercial refrigeration repairs — fans, controls, defrost parts, gaskets, drain problems and start components — cost far less than new equipment and get you running again quickly.

Compressor failures and major leaks on older equipment are where replacement belongs in the conversation, especially for low-cost reach-ins. A walk-in box itself lasts for years, so the refrigeration components are normally repaired rather than replacing the walk-in. We'll give you the repair price so you can compare it with new equipment from your supplier. We're repair-only and don't sell or install equipment.

Commercial Refrigeration Brands We Repair

We work on most commercial refrigeration makes. Tell us the brand and model (it's on the data plate inside the door or on the condensing unit) when you call.

Commercial Refrigeration Repair FAQ

What should I do if my walk-in cooler stops cooling?

Keep the door closed, move the most temperature-sensitive product to another cooler if you have one, and check that the condensing unit is running and isn't blocked. Then call (321) 381-4321 during business hours; urgent commercial repairs are prioritized.

Why does my reach-in cooler keep icing up?

Ice on the evaporator usually means the defrost system isn't working, the door isn't sealing or the drain is blocked. Chipping the ice off only helps for a while; the cause has to be fixed.

How often should commercial refrigeration be cleaned?

It depends on the kitchen. Condensers near fryers and grills load up with grease quickly and need cleaning more often. Keeping the condenser coils clean is the single most useful thing you can do between repairs.

Do you repair commercial ice machines too?

Yes. We repair commercial ice machines, including Hoshizaki units like the one pictured on this page.

Do you offer after-hours service?

No. Our hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Urgent commercial repairs are prioritized during those hours.

How much is the service call?

The service call is $69, and it's waived when you go ahead with the repair. After diagnosing the problem we give you a clear price before any work starts.

What warranty do you offer?

Every repair includes a 1-year warranty on installed parts and a 3-month warranty on labor.

When are you open?

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. You can send the booking form anytime and we'll call you back during the next business day. Urgent repairs are prioritized during business hours.
